MIZORAM: Chhinga Veng FC came out on top of an evenly matched up semi-final with a 2-1 victory over Bethlehem Vengthlang FC.

Star striker Malsawmfela scored the all important goal to take his side through to the finals.

In a rain-soaked match at Assam Rifles Ground Lammual today, it was Chhinga Veng FC who took the lead on the 16th minute through R. Malsawmtluanga.

BVT FC came close to equalizing on numerous occasions through Rammawia and Ramenga missing chances and Tluanga forcing a save from Chhibga Veng FC goalkeeper T Mawia.

The second half saw play halted twice due to bad weather as in the first half and both teams found it hard to find a consistent tempo in their play.

But it was Chhinga Veng FC who found the winning goal when Malsawmfela applied the finishing touches to a freekick from R. Malsawmtluanga.
