Champhai, Mizoram: The final game of Round 7 of the Mizoram Premier League saw a bottom table clash between Zo United FC and former champions Dinthar FC. In a thrilling encounter, both teams scored twice to share a point.
Both teams desperate for three points immediately set out looking for an early goal. The early exchanges resulting in an end-to-end action entertaining a lively crowd.
And it was striker Michael Lalremruata who struck on the 8th minute for Dinthar FC to give his side the lead. Michael had previously missed the last two games because of an injury and his side found it hard to score without him in the line-up.
But this time he is fit and well and duly doubled their lead after getting on the end of a cross from the wing for their second goal.
Zo United, determined to pull one back, were given a lifeline after Dinthar FC’s Lalthafela put the ball into their own net on the 22nd minute.
Zo United got back level before halftime as Lalnunpuia Pachuau found their equaliser on the 43rd minute giving his side some space to breathe at halftime.
The second half saw Zo United get the better of their opponents but could finish off one of the several chances they created.
Dinthar FC also looked to hit on the break but their brilliant attackers were led down by the service of their sub-par midfielders.
Two-goal hero Michael Lalremruata was chosen as The Man of the Match for his performance.
