Elsewhere, Railways, who suffered consecutive defeats against Punjab and Kerala respectively, edged past Maharashtra 1-0 at Tilak Maidan in Vasco.

The all important goal came in the 35th minute in the form of an own goal through Maharashtra’s Rahul Das, which ultimately turned out to be the match winner and helped Railways to register their first win of the competition.
