GANGTOK: Sikkim Football Association (SFA) on Friday has announced the 22-member Sikkim Senoir Men’s Football Team for the upcoming  71st National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy commencing from 28 December 2016.

While releasing the final list of players at Gangtok Football House, Menla Ethenpa General Secretary of SFA said that the players has been drawn from various clubs of Sikkim. SFA conducted a ten day long coaching camp for them at Paljor Stadium.

Mayal Dok Lepcha, who holds AFC C License coaching certificate, has been named as the Head Caoch and Pema Gyatso Bhutia has been named as Team Manager. Former Mohammedan Sporting Club defender Mobin Rai has named as the captain of the team. The team will leave for Bokaro, Jharkhand on 24 December 2016.

Sikkim has been placed in Group B alongwith Jharkhand, Railways and Bihar in the qualifying round. Sikkim will start their campaign against Jharkhand on 28 December 2016 before facing Railways and Bihar respectively on 30 December 2016 and  1 Januray 2017.
